Yanagawa, about an hour's drive from downtown Fukuoka, is a water town with a network of canals that stretches 60 kilometers in length and is 2 kilometers square. The highlight of Yanagawa tourism is the "river boat ride" that takes you around the canals in a donko boat. You can spend a relaxing time listening to the boatman's boat song and the soothing sounds of the water.
